As the business grew, IB Lighting grew increasingly frustrated with outsourced customer support and the limitations of its outdated ERP software. “Our previous ERP software functioned more like a restaurant Point of Sale system and lacked the unique functionality a business like ours required,” explains IB Lighting’s Imad Boussi.

As a result, the company began to seek a software solution that could improve operational efficiency and eliminate time-consuming international customer service support. “The turning point came when we received a positive recommendation from a customer already using Savance,” explains Boussi. The fact that Savance’s headquarters were local to the distributor added to the appeal, providing a sense of easy accessibility. Boussi notes, “When we learned that Savance was local, it made the deal even sweeter. Since going live on Savance Enterprise ERP Software, IB Lighting has been able to save significant time on time-consuming order entry and payment processing. Boussi says one of the best features of the software is its flexible ability to record deposit transactions as either cash or credit, regardless of which option is chosen. Doing so means that no money is lost or unaccounted for during a transaction. “The improvements we’ve been able to make since moving to Savance have led to 99% financial accounting accuracy with our records — something we would never have been able to achieve on our previous software,” notes Boussi.

“Reconciliation is so simple with Savance. What used to take me hours now takes me minutes,” he adds. “All of my transactions are accurate. The inventory is extremely accurate. With the click of a button, I can easily access my list of backorders and the activity of an item. If I have an item in the system, I can see all the particulars of that item.”

That capability has “significantly reduced false returns”, for the distributor according to Boussi. Boussi explains that with the previous system, IB Lighting struggled to match a return with purchase history, which led to customers frequently returning items to the store that they purchased elsewhere. “Now in the Savance system, I can identify the purchase and validate the transaction quickly. Not only is the customer need met, but we are ensuring our profit margins stay accurate because we are not taking in returns from big box retailers.”
“Our customers have even noticed how much more detailed their transactions are and how quickly we can get them in and out the door,” says Boussi. “Up until we moved to Savance, we were struggling to run processes, achieve efficiency, increase production, and reduce costs. Now, my team can create purchase orders and put in the cost price and I do not have to go back into the system and put in what we bought that specific item for,” says Boussi. The system automatically generates the cost price instantly. Boussi explains there is also an option for less cost price which saves him a lot of time throughout the day, especially when orders come through. “From the moment that order comes in, I already have confidence that the system is using the cost price from the purchase order,” he explains.
