Deluxe Kitchen & Vanity
ERP Software Transition Sparks Remarkable 30% Growth in Record Time
- A Savance Enterprise Client Case Study
We had grown bigger than our ERP system could handle.
Deluxe Vanity and Kitchen started its journey in 2005, as a bathroom vanity manufacturer and wholesaler. Since then, the company has expanded into a spacious 60,000 sq. ft warehouse to serve the prominent Van Nuys, California community and a growing online customer base.
President Roy Heskel takes pride in ensuring that Deluxe Vanity consistently delivers an exceptional experience in its kitchen and bath showroom. In addition, the luxury location offers a full retail area for contractors, builders, and walk-in customers looking to make home improvements.
When the ambitious distributor set his eyes on future growth, he knew it was time to make a drastic change to improve overall efficiency and strengthen order management.
“We had grown bigger than our ERP system could handle,” Heskel says with a large part of the concern stemming from the inventory management and reporting features of the software. “We were at the point where system limitations prevented us from knowing where an item even came from if it was returned to the store. We would have items just sitting around with no way to track them or know the lifecycle of that item. It just became overwhelming,” emphasized Heskel.
Heskel explains Deluxe needed a system that could support its growth trajectory with access to robust reporting, easy point-of-sale, and key showroom features. “For example, our previous ERP system made it difficult to manage margins on our products leading to hours of painstaking work with manual updates.”
As a member of Luxury Products Group, Heskel turned to industry references to learn more about which ERP software solutions worked for showrooms. “I was lucky to be introduced to Savance Enterprise and customers using their ERP solution within the LPG community. I found myself impressed by Savance’s deep understanding of what our business
required without the high price other ERP companies typically charge,” adds Heskel.

Heskel says speaking to references in the industry and group played a huge part in his decision to turn towards Savance. “We just felt very comfortable with the functionality and workflows Savance offers showrooms like ours that continue to be challenged by changing customer demands.” Savance Enterprise had gained recognition among the community for its personal implementations and responsive customer support at a time when many ERP players were pulling back from on-site transitions.
Transition Yields Results
“Our transition to Savance was pretty simple and smooth. There were some hurdles but nothing we did not expect.”
Heskel explains that his previous system did not handle day-to-day operations as thoroughly in the order he now realizes has garnered a huge efficiency advantage. “I didn’t know what I didn’t know,” says Heskel speaking in regards to the streamlined nature of daily operations. Once the Deluxe Vanity team was shown the time-saving efficiencies they would capture, everyone was on board. “We were all eager to utilize the process improvements.”
It is those process improvements that helped Deluxe Vanity & Kitchen grow 30% just one year after implementing Savance.
There would have been no way to have the control and flexibility we have today with customer pricing and an accurate view of our costs without this transition. Savance was critical in serving as a launching point for our growth trajectory.
Deluxe continues to rely heavily on functionality that also helps them deliver top-notch customer service while steadily growing their bottom line. In the purchasing area of the system, Heskel refers to the ease by which the Deluxe team can access a customer’s specific terms and credits. “We have vital information at our fingertips now which has simplified so many things we used to have to do manually.” The visibility into purchasing terms gives the team the insight it needs to plan and forecast cash flow effectively helping provide a 360-degree aerial view into working capital by aligning payment schedules with the company’s financial capabilities.
Savance also provides a seamless view of inventory across various locations, ensuring efficient stock allocation. Additionally, it allows the team at Deluxe to effortlessly ‘cherry-pick’ products from one order to another providing the flexibility to significantly increase order volume.
Standing Out from the Competition via eCommerce
Not only is Deluxe streamlining its operational efficiencies, but they are also tapping into the powerful partnership between Bravo Business Media and Savance ERP to stay in front of opportunities in a market. With the seamless integration between Savance and Bravo, the distributor is able to provide customers with polished, branded quotes and easily convert them into orders. In addition, their myplumbingshowroom.com online presence showcases Deluxe’s complete catalog data and MSRPs, which are all automatically updated in real time and seamlessly fed into the ERP. “When we have a product go live on our website, all the product data also goes directly into our ERP system as well. The data in real-time, so all systems synchronize harmoniously,” explains Heskel.

In addition, Deluxe leverages the power of Wind River Credit Card processing to provide customers with multiple payment options when shopping. Heskel says being able to keep credit cards on file streamlines the time it takes to complete orders. “Since the data is encrypted, we can rest easy knowing we have customer information stored securely but can utilize it to place future orders as needed,” Heskel explains.
Staying a Step Ahead
Deluxe Vanity & Kitchen anticipates sustained growth as familiarity and understanding of Savance’s capabilities expand. According to Heskel,
We can scale our growth with the solution by consistently implementing current features and leveraging new system enhancements. We are just scratching the surface with Savance.
When asked to advise for other plumbing distributors and showrooms considering a new ERP transition, Heskel states, “There’s never an ideal time to switch systems.” He proceeds to offer, “Although transitions are always challenging, it’s better to rip the Band-Aid off and proceed. The challenges we’ve encountered have been minimal and have proven to be entirely worthwhile for us, allowing us to capitalize on our returns and set even higher goals.”
